“I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do…” John 17:4
That’s the scripture Rachel Marissa aims to say at the end of her life’s journey. A storyteller at heart, she knows that using her gift of writing to tell sweet/clean, diverse, and emotional stories is a part of what she needs to do in order to say just that.
Rachel was born and raised in Rochester, New York, and still lives there today. She attended the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and since then has had an eclectic working life which has included being an engraver, dancing in character costumes for kids’ birthday parties and currently working in the care system for those with mental and physical disabilities.
Rachel’s love for writing is something that has been with her since childhood and she found herself drawn to the romance and comedy genres. Love Lost No More is her first novel but, in the past, she wrote fanfiction.
In her free time Rachel is almost always either reading or writing. She loves playing video games, is also currently learning to speak French and has a vast collection of socks that she adds to regularly.
As far as the future is concerned, Rachel intends to write more books and is keen to tell stories that portray African American Women who are in love and being loved, perhaps one of her stories finding its way to becoming a movie or TV show. An animal lover at heart, she would love to own a Great Dane and improving her cooking skills is also something she intends to work on.
